Back in-person for its seventh edition, I4C 2023 brough together the private and public sectors to discuss innovative approaches to climate action across finance, markets, policy and technology. The event took place on May 23-25, 2023 at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre in Bilbao, Spain.
With the theme “Scaling climate action in a changing world: innovation, investment and impact”, the 3-day conference brought together over 1,500 participants from 132 countries (945 in person, 634 online). Over 44 technical workshop sessions showcased proven how-to climate solutions from around the globe, and a Marketplace with 35 exhibitors from the public and private sectors featured groundbreaking initiatives. I4C 2023 also hosted a Journalists Workshop and a Young Climate Innovators program.
I4C 2023 featured three high-level plenaries focusing on 1) Stepping Up Climate Finance: From Innovation to Delivery, 2) Carbon Markets and the Path to Net-Zero: From Potential to Reality; and 3) Making Climate Action Work for All: An Inclusive and Just Transition. Over 44 technical workshop sessions.
The sixth edition of I4C took place entirely virtually for the second time, with over 7,300 delegates from 182 countries and more than 50 workshops. Leaders from the public and private sector came together and showcased innovation and investment opportunities for low-carbon, resilient and inclusive development.
The fifth edition of I4C took place entirely virtually for the first time, with over 8,000 delegates from 183 countries and more than 60 workshops. Global leaders, practitioners, young people came together and exchanged ideas on putting climate action at the heart of a sustainable recovery, bringing the pull potential of carbon pricing for a net zero pathway, and rethinking finance for climate action.
The third edition of I4C took place in Singapore, first time in Asia and hosted in partnership with Ecosperity week, over 1,200 delegates from 82 countries attended and exchanged ideas on low-carbon and climate-resilient transformation.
The second edition of I4C was a success, bringing together more than 1,100 participants from 74 countries, the conference discussed finance and investment solutions to address climate change.
In its very first edition in Barcelona, I4C established itself as the preeminent global event on climate change action. The conference convened more than 1,100 participants from 82 countries and representatives and leaders discussed the shape of the next generation of climate finance.
