Innovate4Climate – now in its seventh year – is the World Bank Group’s flagship climate action event that promotes a global dialogue between the public and private sectors, showcasing the opportunities and innovations for low-carbon, resilient development, and fostering exchange of knowledge to promote investments in transformative climate-smart solutions.

Here are 5 things to know about Innovate4Climate 2023:

• The event had 3 high level plenaries that covered climate finance, carbon markets and the just transition.

• It also hosted over 40 workshops and a buzzing marketplace of ideas, focusing on a range of innovations in the climate space – finance, technologies, policies and markets. 

• The annual State and Trends of Carbon Pricing 2023 report was launched at Innovate4Climate 2023 showing that last year carbon pricing policies generated a record $95 billion in revenues 

• Innovate4Climate 2023 brought the biggest ever youth contingent to participate – youth are an integral piece of the climate innovation puzzle, bringing fresh perspectives, insights, and expertise to the climate space.

• Innovate4Climate 2023 pioneered a hybrid format with over 1500 attendees from over 130 countries joining in person or online.
